Ventures Education Systems Corporation was adopted as the whole school reform model while I worked at Lincoln Professional Development School (prek-8) in an urban area of New Jersey.  The following lessons and activities are examples of using existing content and curriculum and applying the Ventures Structured Thinking Skills.

Touchstones Discussion
Touchstones is the Ventures model for classroom discussion which can be based on a reading or anything that provokes a response.  Students use "group process" and the teacher acts as a facilitator.

Think Aloud Paired Problem Solving (TAPPS) can be used in any content area to practice a process taught in class.  It helps students become more metacognitive.

Compare Contrast Writing
