This project was used with middle school students after a unit of poetry and figurative language study. Students enjoy memorizing and reciting poetry. The writing component of the project is very structured and a good introduction to literature anyalysis. Please see student work samples following the assignment sheet.

This version has been modified from the middle school version. Students complete the project after a unit of study on poetry and figurative language. Many parts are completed in class, and structured examples and questions are given. A grading rubric is attached.
