PAL June 2007

During my first year of long-term substituting at Gardner Road Elementary, I taught a student in great need of support and extra care.  I decided to mentor him through the PAL program.  We spent much time together working on social, academic, and personal growth.  I was deeply upset when the PAL program ended, but I continue to keep in touch with Dakota.

I drove Dakota home after intramurals at school.

Dakota stayed after school and we worked on reading assignments.  We then went to the Arnot Mall arcade and had dinner in the food court.

We went to the Horseheads Public Library to choose books, had lunch, went to Harris Hill and played mini golf and played in batting cages.

We went hiking at Spencer Crest Nature Center, then made cookies at my house, watched a movie (Godzilla vs. Hedorah), and had dinner.
