Kidztown

Kidztown was the children's program at a church I attended for several years.  I worked with a small group of fourth and fifth graders each week in a classroom setting before we attended the large group worship program.  I enjoyed getting to know these children and fostering their spiritual growth.

Career Day Committee
While at Lincoln Professional Development School, grades preK through eight, I served on the Career Day Committee for five years.  My duties included meeting with other committee members, creating promotional and program materials, photographing events of the day, and recruiting and greeting volunteer speakers.  During this time we grew from a half day to a full day event enjoyed by all.

During my first year of long-term substituting at Gardner Road Elementary, I taught a student in great need of support and extra care.  I decided to mentor him through the PAL program.  We spent much time together working on social, academic, and personal growth.  I was deeply upset when the PAL program ended, but I continue to keep in touch with Dakota.
